Jose is local pilot residing here in good ol Houston, TX! He is originally from Venezuela and grew up in Miami, FL. It was not until very recently (beginning of 2016) that he became involved with FPV racing. He always had a love for RC tech and flying machines, but never fully entered the hobby until now... It all started with an aerial photography drone he got back in December of 2015. He loved flying it any chance he got and was just amazed by the technology and how quick it had evolved into these autonomous flying machines.

However, flying an aerial drone at such slow speeds got a little dull very quick and he wanted something that could fly fast! That's when he discovered this amazing hobby of FPV racing and was instantly hooked!!... He remembers watching the videos of pilots doing amazing maneuvers and just creating this amazing feeling of flying and weightlessness...being able to fly over trees, under bridges, down mountains, well you get the point! He immediately decided to build his first quad to re-create this amazing experience of flight. Unfortunately, that quad did not last too long as it found many obstacles in its way, specially being piloted by a newbie! But the experience of flying through the goggles and seeing it in first person was just too cool to pass up.

After much research he found Catalyst Machineworks! An amazingly cool looking and durable quad, which best of all, was made by local folks in Houston! That became his first true racing machine...The Speed Addict 210-R! And boy was it a machine!

At this point, he was practicing and enjoying flying every sunny day there was! And realized that there was also a huge community of people meeting every weekend all across Texas to fly and race them. He discovered Htown FPV, our local MultiGP Chapter, and decided to give racing a try. The group of folks were all amazingly cool and extremely helpful in getting him started. From then on, a true passion for drone racing was born!

Jose, in only a short time has competed in various events across the country and managed to land amongst top pilots, only fueling his motivation and love for the sport even further. He has competed with still his first Speed Addict 210-R and continues to do so! He has also been really involved in our local racing community and spreading the love for FPV! When he is not flying, Jose is a Supply Chain Management Consultant and holds a BS/MS i Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami.
